Recordist's notes
I am currently knitting a swatch based on pomegranates and have been buying these fruits in order to study them for my knitterly research. They can be time-consuming to prepare if you want to include them in a salad, and most folks recommend that you cut them in half and spank them with a wooden spoon in order to extract the seeds. I have been enjoying finding the best technique for this; if you thrash the pomegranate too hard it falls to bits, but you do need to be a bit firm in order to knock the seeds out. This sound recording features my perfected pomegranate-spanking technique. I had a very tasty fruit salad following this light culinary violence.
