Recordist's notes

The now extinct sound of the leaky tap in our old bathroom. Before the recent re-fit, our bathroom tap was constantly pouring water away. We had to secure a flannel around it with a rubber band, to channel the heavy leak into the bath and to stop water from going back into the faucet and leaking down through the bath into the electric system of the lights in the kitchen below, thus tripping the fuse-box! So we had constantly this sound. The long, slow, eternal hiss of the bathroom tap leaking. It's stopped now and we have a fancy new bathroom, but it has changed the way the house sounds to remove the bath and get rid of this leaky faucet which was a sonic feature of daily life for some months round here.
