Château d'Avignon en Camargue - Water bubbling in the canal, 'Le domaine des murmures # 1'. From July, 19th, to Octobre, 19th in 2014, there is a pretty fine sound art exhibiton at the Château d'Avignon en Camargue. Titled 'Le domaine des murmures # 1', several site-specific sound works turn the parc and some of the outbuildings into a pulsating soundscape. In this particular recording, you will hear the sound of water bubbling in one of the canals, the drone of the water pump from the machine hall nearby, the chatter and laughter of some Italian visitors as well as the sonic contributions of several unidentified crickets, and, in the distance, perhaps some sounds from art works by Julien Clauss, Emma Dusong, Arno Fabre, Franck Lesbros, and, last but not least, the total absence of sound from a silent installation by Emmanuel Lagarrigue in the machine hall.
