Recordist's notes

XY stereo recording of a streamlet, amphibians and birds at dawn at Fiapre wetland, Ghana. The location is a marshland with human settlement surrounding it with concerning sanitation and fragmentation issues. In the recording: Constant pouring of a streamlet in the Fiapre wetland in the Bono Region of Ghana. Coucals and a puddle frog (Phrynobatrachus latifrons) can be heard within the stereo image. This streamlet is surrounded by human dwellings, so domestic animal and human activity can be perceived in the background. Ground support was provided by Emmanuel Boateng. Field recording introductions by CSEM and WISEA founder, Samuel Kudjodzi @csem_official. This is a part of further field recording practice by Miss Victoria Asante @victoria_wiseaghana, a BSc Biological Science graduate of the UENR - University of Energy and Natural Resources, Ghana. She is also a Scientific Resource Person on the CSEM and WISEA projects and working on scientific parameters to determine the health of the waters in the community as well as the ecosystem. She presented on “Wetlands and their Communal Importance” at the first CSEM and WISEA residency program on Sound and Ecology held in Koforidua, Eastern Region of Ghana. The acoustic and scientific data being gathered will be used to build sound installations on fragile ecosystems to educate, sensitise the public, and inform policies on them. Monitoring, Editing, and Mastering by Samuel Kudjodzi, CSEM and WISEA founder, Germany. The CSEM and WISEA projects are supported by Earth.fm, @sound_service_gmbh, @seriousmicrophones, @lom.label, and donors. We also express sincere thanks to all organisations and individuals coming on board to help develop talents in Soundscape Ecology and Multimedia on the African continent.
