Recordist's notes

“Hommage to RW and JC in the time of COVID19: soundscape” On Saturday, July 25th, the 2020 Bayreuth Festival with the singing masters of Nuremberg was supposed to open. Because of the Corona virus epidemic the festival will not take place. On Monday, July 20 I passed in front of the Festpielhaus in the early afternoon and I made a 4 channel surround recording of 4'33" of sounds by placing the recorder on the central step of the main entrance door, obviously closed. In non-pandemic conditions, it would still not have been the full fervency of the festival, but certainly, the situation would have been less quiet and, I suppose, you could have heard the sounds of the final days of rehearsal and preparations filtered out of the Festspielhause. Start at 2:25 p.m. end at 2:30 p.m. duration of recording 4’33” Surround 4ch recording made with ZoomH2n, internal microphones (XY and MS +150°) 24 bit, 48 kHz, wav converted in MP3 320 kbit/s.
