Recordist's notes
People walking on the nightingale floor at Erinji temple in Yamanashi, Japan. A nightingale floor was designed to squeak when walked on, to provide a warning of intruders during turbulent times in Japan's history. They are found in Japanese castles and temples, although they seem relatively rare - this is the only one I have found listed outside of Kyoto. Recorded using a Zoom H5 placed on the floor in the center of the hallway.
