Recordist's notes
At this jagged promontory in the stunning Northern Ireland coastline the cliffs and bare rocks form a natural amphitheater that gives the soundscape a reverberant quality it would not have in the open. On this unbelievably warm, calm day it creates a very special atmosphere. Gulls, eider ducks, oystercatchers, rock pipits, cormorants and people all contribute. The distant shouts are an extreme sports group (Aquaholics) that leap off cliffs into the sea below. The rather sinister bass is a helicopter for wealthy tourists to see the view from above. They regularly fly over but even when on the ground the drone, 5km away, is constant and never stops.
