Recordist's notes
We are sitting with Yemi under a tree in the “Nordring”, a city park. After the first couple of minutes talking and recording, it begins to rain heavily. We find rescue in a little wood house on the playground nearby… Nigerian artist, drummer, educator, cultural producer and activist, Yemi Ojo, now at home in Germany, tells us where he’s coming from… His “cultural baggage”, his drumming and music, was and is his key in building a new life here and now … (this recording was later remixed in the radio piece FREEWAY MAINSTREAM broadcast on WDR-3 Studio Akustische Kunst in May 2012) http://www.radiocontinentaldrift.wordpress.com
