Multi-channel recording of Smardale Gill Viaduct, a disused railway viaduct in Smardale Gill nature reserve. The stantions on the viaduct whistle as the wind blows across them. Recorded on a sunny and windy mid May afternoon. No people around but a large raven can be heard flying around the valley. Part of a series of recordings for A Sound Mosaic of the Westmorland Dales. Peral M-s stereo mic, 2 x DPA 4060 inside two stantions, 2 x Barcus Berry contact mics on a wire mesh attached to the stantions
