Recordist's notes

Grabiszyński Park observes from the window of the veranda situated on the first floor of one of the houses on the first coastline. 7 years have passed. Its colours, seasons, air and temperature are integral parts of life. The house I live in was built in 1938 and bears the motto "Wenn dieses Haus so lange steht, bis aller Haß und Neid vergeht, dann wird's fürwahr so lange stehn, bis daß die Welt wird untergehn". I hope the world will rot before I leave. The park has an area of 48 ha and consists of two parts: the northern one - at Aleja Generała Józefa Hallera, and the southern one - on the Ślęza River. Both parts are separated by a separate (closed) area of a green plant. They are connected in the east by a walking avenue and a strip of trees - Eugeniusz Romer Avenue. In the southern part, the park joins the green belt along Grabiszynka and Ślusarska Street, stretching all the way to Mała Sobótka. The park was built in an area that used to be a cemetery - Kommunal Friedhof in Gräbchen. In 1867, the area east of Gräbschener Straße (today ul. Grabiszyńska), located between Kürassier Straße (now Al. Hallera) and a plant nursery located about 300 meters south of Aleja [a], was allocated to part I of the municipal cemetery (Kommunal Friedhof in Gräbchen Teil I). In the central part of the cemetery there was a chapel, built according to the design of the architect Zimmermann in a style imitating the Italian Renaissance. This part of the necropolis together with the chapel was completely destroyed in 1945 during the siege of the city. It was later called the "Grabiszyński Cemetery I", although it was no longer used at all, and in 1963 it was finally liquidated. In 1881, the second part of this cemetery was created (Kommunal Friedhof in Gräbchen Teil II), located on the opposite (west) side of Gräbschener Straße. This area has retained its role to this day - it is the Grabiszyński Cemetery (sometimes also referred to, for historical reasons, as "Grabiszyński II Cemetery"). The Grabiszyński Cemetery is not part of the Park, although it is adjacent to it by a street. In 1916, the third part of the necropolis (Kommunal Friedhof in Gräbchen Teil III, after the war called the Grabiszyński Cemetery III) began to be used, located on the eastern side of Grabiszyńska Street, on the southern edge of the oldest part of the cemetery complex (Grabiszyński I), south of the plant nursery. The central element of the cemetery was the crematorium [b] built in 1926 according to the
