Recordist's notes
Srem is not an easy city to record due to its heavy traffic all day and night long. There are over 700 cars per 1000 residents and whatever time of the day you choose, your recordings will be full of noise of passing cars. The city is jammed during the day as everybody seems to have a need to drive somewhere. Bike infrastructure is almost unused and you get the sense that as a pedestrian are normally looked down upon. Although it was almost midnight, most of the recording includes cars driving around. The main subject of the recording though are the sounds from an open window on the second floor of an apartment building. Certainly someone was playing a game on their phone and watching TV. Just an evening Saturday activity in one of the homes on a hot summer night. (roland r-07)
