Recordist's notes
We are with the poet Batsirai Chigama in the Book Café Harare where she works as a gender officer and project coordinator for the FLAME project. It’s late afternoon, and you’ll hear the muffled sounds of the rush-hour city, and people’s voices roaming through Book Café...What has been Batsi’s way into writing and performing, and how does she see her role as a women and poet in her country? Is the city an inspiration in her work…? In this part of our conversation, Batsi takes us to the very beginnings of her career as a performance poet…. http://www.batsiraichigama.maumbile.com The complete interview with Batsi is archived here: https://archive.org/details/Voices_from_Harare_243 From: http://both-sides-of-the-zambezi.tumblr.com/
