Recordist's notes
50 years ago, the Centre for Alternative Technology, built on a disused quarry mine in Mid Wales, was established by a group of creative, skilled individuals, to find ways of living without fossil fuels. Now an education centre full of creative demonstration models and gardens for living sustainably. In the allotment garden, the 18-blade windmill transforms the wind into mechanical energy. In the background the pond with hydro-electric pump can be heard. Recorded with a pair of lavalier microphones and a Sound Devices MixPre-3.
