Recordist's notes

This is a recording I was hesitating to upload. It documents sounds of a demonstration of people, who think that their freedom is in danger cause of the pandemic measures that were taken by local governments as well as the federal government in Germany. So this documentation does not seek to propagate the topics the demonstraters would like to spread, but rather to give them to listen to as a puzzeling event. The recording starts at the park and walks within the domonstration for a while at different heights. At a certain point I stand aside and the demonstrators pass by. I join them again until the demonstration is stopped due to certain terms (wearing masks beyond others) they did not fulfill. Several police anouncements are heard. I then switched sides and stand with some people who demonstrated against this demonstration, shouting slogans like: "Maske auf, Nazis raus". After some time (and four anouncements by the police) the demonstration moved on and passed by the other protestors, so a lot of arguing is to be heard. Two observations I would like to add: the sound of demonstrations changed a lot, a lot of people bring their own soundsystem with them, at.a certain point someone is saying, "Next time we will bring our own system". So a lot of different songs are to be heard, from Corona-Leugner-songwriters to Opus with Life is Life. The other point is, that I had the impression that all the hate speech that is around in social media materialised at a certain point on the street and left me, at least, rather speechless. I know that radio aporee does not provide the space to discuss this question at length but stays with the sound, but at the same time I would like to share my speechlessness with this recording, that was done with binaural microphones and a Tascam recorder, so it could be listened at with headphones....
